Apollo Beach K-8 earns state excellence designation
Hillsborough County Public Schools says Apollo Beach K-8 is among 38 district schools named 2025-2026 Florida Schools of Excellence by the state board.
What changed
Apollo Beach K-8 School is on Hillsborough County Public Schools’ newly announced list of 2025-2026 Florida Schools of Excellence. The district said 38 schools were designated by the Florida State Board of Education on Oct. 14, and it posted the announcement on Oct. 15.
What the designation means
HCPS says the label goes to schools whose sustained academic performance puts them among the state’s highest performers. The district also says the award is tied to Florida law and recognizes student achievement and academic outcomes.
What Apollo Beach readers should take from it
For Apollo Beach families, the main takeaway is simple: the neighborhood K-8 is one of four Hillsborough K-8 campuses on the list. If you are comparing schools or following the campus this year, this gives you a current state-level performance marker to add to the conversation.
